Anxiety is a common and highly treatable mental health condition that affects thoughts, emotions, physical health, and daily functioning.
While anxiety is a normal response to stress, it can become overwhelming when worry feels persistent, difficult to control, or begins to interfere with sleep, work, relationships, or parenting.
Anxiety activates the nervous system to help prepare for perceived challenges or danger. However, when the nervous system remains in a prolonged state of alert, individuals may experience significant changes to their ability to function.
Anxiety can develop gradually or increase during periods of uncertainty, major life transitions, trauma, postpartum changes, health concerns, or ongoing stress. Therapy for anxiety can help reduce symptoms, improve emotional regulation, and support overall mental wellbeing by providing practical tools to manage worry and feel more grounded.

Anxiety symptoms can impact emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural functioning. Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Since anxiety is rooted in the nervous system and is ultimately trying to help you stay safe, we will collaboratively work to understand what triggers your anxiety and what approach fits best for you.
Depending on what is driving your anxiety, we will use a variety of evidence-based techniques to help you build coping skills and address the root causes, with the goal of helping you feel more in control of your anxiety, rather than anxiety controlling you.

CBT helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, worry, and avoidance. You will learn practical strategies to challenge anxious thinking and build confidence in managing stress.
ACT helps you develop a more flexible relationship with anxious thoughts and feelings. This approach supports mindfulness, self-compassion, and taking meaningful action aligned with your values, even when anxiety is present.
DBT skills strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. These tools can help you feel less overwhelmed, respond more effectively to stress, and build greater emotional stability.
EMDR Therapy may be helpful when anxiety is connected to past experiences or trauma. EMDR supports the brain in processing distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming and have less impact on your present wellbeing.
